Ornamental Qualities

Phenomenal Lavender has masses of beautiful spikes of fragrant purple flowers with blue overtones rising above the foliage from mid to late summer | which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. It has attractive silver evergreen foliage. The fragrant needles are highly ornamental and turn coppery-bronze in the fall | which persists throughout the winter.

Planting and Growing

Phenomenal Lavender will grow to be about 26 inches tall at maturity extending to 3 feet tall with the flowers | with a spread of 26 inches. It grows at a slow rate | and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 10 years.

This shrub should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers dry to average moisture levels with very well-drained soil | and will often die in standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant | and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application.
