Ornamental Qualities
Show Off Sugar Baby Forsythia is blanketed in stunning gold bell-shaped flowers with yellow overtones along the branches from early to late spring before the leaves. The flowers are excellent for cutting. It has dark green deciduous foliage. The glossy pointy leaves do not develop any appreciable fall color. The brick red stems can be quite attractive.
Planting and Growing
Show Off Sugar Baby Forsythia will grow to be about 30 inches tall at maturity | with a spread of 30 inches. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't necessarily require facer plants in front. It grows at a medium rate | and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years.
This shrub should only be grown in full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations | and should do just fine under typical garden conditions. It is not particular as to soil type or pH | and is able to handle environmental salt. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This particular variety is an interspecific hybrid.
