  • Alberta Spruce are perfect landscape plants in many ways. The dwarf form is so suitable for smaller spaces that need structure or formal foundation plantings. Slowly growing to between 4 and 8 feet, they keep their finely textured shape nicely with only light or no pruning. This makes them perfect for topiaries. Although they can withstand a part sun situation, they perform best when planted in full sun with regular watering, while the soil should be well draining as Alberta spruce don't appreciate soggy roots. Don't crowd these little conifers either. The foliage is so dense that good air circulation is a must to keep them healthy.
