Ruby Heart Hens And Chicks is a dense herbaceous perennial with tall flower stalks held atop a low mound of foliage. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other garden plants with less refined foliage.

Ornamental Qualities

Ruby Heart Hens And Chicks features unusual clusters of purple star-shaped flowers rising above the foliage from early to late summer. Its attractive succulent pointy leaves are bluish-green in color with showy dark red variegation. The foliage often turns plum purple in fall.

Planting and Growing

Ruby Heart Hens And Chicks will grow to be only 4 inches tall at maturity extending to 10 inches tall with the flowers | with a spread of 12 inches. It can be propagated by division; however | as a cultivated variety | be aware that it may be subject to certain restrictions or prohibitions on propagation.
