Edible Qualities

Ready for a tomato harvest? Look for Cherokee Purples that are deep purple-red and fully ripe. They'll practically fall off the vine with just a gentle twist. Keep up the regular harvesting to produce even more! These tomatoes are the big guys on the vine | weighing in at 10-12 ounces each | and boasting a unique deep purple-red color with green shoulders.

Planting and Growing

This indeterminate variety of tomato plant just keeps on growing throughout the season | meaning you'll have a steady supply of fresh tomatoes. And | it can grow up to 5-7 feet tall! You're going to want to make sure it has some strong support | like stakes or cages.

Make sure to space Purple Cherokee Heirlooms 24"-36" apart as they are an indeterminate variety. When you're ready to plant | dig down deep enough to nestle the root ball and the first set of leaves below existing soil level. This will encourage strong root development. And don’t forget a big drink of water after planting to help settle the soil.
